Fair porcelain skin, fuss-free hair, large almond-shaped eyes, high-bridged nose and perfectly shaped lips? Not no mention the perfect jaw line that looks as if it's chiseled by the hands of god?
These perfect individuals are totally worshiped by naive and ignorant girls and boys.
It's "plastic fantastic", as they call it. Those hands of god are actually surgeons of cosmetic plastic surgery.
So, WHY is it that Koreans are so hyped up about cosmetic surgery?
Reason #1.
Media influence. 50% of singers, actors and actresses alike in their 20s have undergone cosmetic surgery even if it's the simplest procedure such as skin whitening.
Reason #2.
Vanity. Non-celebrities believed that by artificially enhancing his/her looks, they can achieve higher popularity and better social connections. The urban term, "ul-jjang" which means "best face" or "good-looking face" , had Korean youths driven to attain pretty, doll-like faces and post their photos up to have internet surfers vote for them.
Reason #3.
Boost of confidence. They want to have a better image at school and workplace. Due to the competitive working environment in order to survive the economic plunge, parents are willing to pay for cosmetic surgeries on their children to encourage them to study and strive harder.
Reason #4.
Advanced technology. Technology has made Korean surgery operations successful and safely performed. Also, cosmetic surgery in Korea relatively affordable because so many doctors are offering the clinical procedure.
All four of these reasons has made cosmetic surgery ever so tempting.
Now, my main topic here will be KOREAN MEN WITH COSMETIC SURGERY. Ehems... Coz I'm a girl.
I was watching KBS World on Astro the other day and there was a documentary on Korean men who are conscious of their appearance. It also documented the various procedures these men underwent to achieve "GOOD LOOKS".
#1. They put on MAKE-UP.
-Moisturizing lotion, whitening facial cream.
-BB Cream foundation for effectively covering blemishes such as dark circles and uneven tones, creating a layer of flawlessly smooth skin. Also protects skin from harmful UV rays.
-Concealer for hiding unwanted lines and also covers dark circle.
-Sometimes even liquid eyeliner.
-Coloured, big-eyed contact lens.
-it removes unflattering stains and yellowness.
-Britesmile whitening, which is done using a type of gel.
-Laser bleaching.
#3 BOTOX for less wrinkle.
-takes only few minutes.
-Men require larger amount due to their larger muscles
-injected on orbicularis oculi which creates wrinkles around the eyes.
-injected on he frontalis which creates the wrinkles of the forehead.
#4 Abdominal ETCHING.
-to hide their bulging belly.
No wonder Super Junior boys look so hot in tux!
#6 They wear underwear with BUTT PADDING.
http://www.bottomsup.ca/forMen.htm
-anatomically and correctly shapes the butt.
-achievable muscular-look instead of loose, saggy butt.
-to attain sexy, and spankalicious butt.
-butt, butt, butt, BUTT.
Edit: #7! Elevated shoes!
(suggested by Audrey)
(suggested by Audrey)
-it's not only high heeled. There's also a hidden elevated sole padding INSIDE the shoe(where the foot is slotted in)
*see the shiny black thing right at the beige-colored "mouth" of the shoe.
-so when a guy puts his feet in the shoe, his heels are not straight flat against the floor but bent like a woman's feet in stilettos, like so;
-height can be increased by 5 to 6 centimeters.
I'm not gonna diss fellow Koreans and call them fake or vain. They have the liberty to do what they want.
Right now I'm just wondering...
If I were to marry a dashing Korean man in hopes to give birth to a beautiful baby...
But when it's time I finally gave birth to his son, won't I be shocked that
my child looks completely different from his daddy?
